Adoni




Adoni town is located in Kurnool district of Andra Pradesh. It is famous for arts and crafts and the fort of Adoni. Jamma Masjid is a fine piece of Muslim architecture located in Adoni.

The Adoni fort was once a stronghold of the Vijayanagar Empire. The fort now lies in ruins upon five rocky granite hills.

Adoni is also famous for the cotton dhurries locally known as 'shatranjis.' Their skilful weaving has created a sensation in the export market. Most of the materials are exhibited during various events at Shilparamam, the arts and crafts village located in Hyderabad.
