Radio Observatory at Gauribidanur in Kolar District
is operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, in a joint collaboration program with the Raman Research Institute.
The various facilities at the observatory help to study radio emission from the sun, pulsars and supernova remnants, galactic and extra-galactic sources. The instruments used in the observatory are decameter wave radio telescope, radio heliograph, 1024 channel digital correlator and Mauritius radio telescope.
