Matsyendranath




Matsyendranath (10-12 century), was the founder of the Natha cult. Born in old Bengal, Matsyendranath has composed many poems in Bangla, and written Sanskrit books on Tantrism. The books written by Matsyendranath are, Kaulajnananirnaya, Akulaviratantra, Kulanandatantra, and Jnanakarika. Matsyendranath is considered the father of the Natha community. Most of the Natha community is based in present day Bangladesh.
