Lord Narasimha is one the ten incarnations of
Lord Vishnu. He is a
Kshatriya, the community of warriors, who can single-handedly destroy thousands of soldiers. He has awesome power and he was the rescuer of
Prahlad from the clutches of the cruel king
Hiranyakashipu.
He is a half-man, half-lion incarnation and the remover of obstacles from the life of all human beings. He took the lion form of Lord Vishnu to kill the demon Hiranyakashipu. Ahobilam is a place of Narasimha worship and the uniqueness of this place is that it has all the nine forms of Lord Narasimha. Ahobilam is also called Nava Narasimha Kshetra.
