Raita is a sort of Indian side salad or sauce. It consists of yogurt with chopped fruits and vegetables, such as bananas, cucumber, eggplant, tomatoes and spinach which are seasoned with spices and herbs. This yogurt-based recipe is served in almost all Indian meals. It is a wonderful summer side dish on a hot day and is excellent for the digestive system.
