Akkihebbal is located in Mandya District of Karnataka. It is 11 km west of Krishnarajapet and is near the district’s border with Mysore District.

Mandya, the district headquarters, is around 57 km south-east. Akkihebbalu Railway Station is on the Krishna Raja Nagar - Mandagere rail route. Bangalore International Airport is the nearest airport.
