Netarhat




Netarhat, at an altitude of 3,622 ft, is a scenic place which lies on the plateau of Chota Nagpur in Latehar District of Jharkhand. It is a health and holiday resort blanketed with dense forests, barren rocks and hillocks.

Upper and Lower Ghagri Waterfalls, Sandhi Falls, Lodh Fall, Sadani Fall, Magnolia Point and Koel View Point are the interesting sites in and around Netarhat. Palamu Dak Bungalow, from where superb views of sunrise and sunset can be enjoyed, is another attraction.

Netarhat is blessed with fertile soil, and English vegetables and fruits such as apples and peaches are grown here in plenty. A number of flowering trees especially Bauhinia and Cassie species are the other specialties. The place has a cool and warm climate even in summers.

The nearest airport and railway station are at Ranchi, which is 144 km away. Regular bus services are available to reach Netarhat from Ranchi, Betla and Daltonganj. The best time to visit the place is from September to May.
