The town of Bermo lies on the banks of the
Damodar River in
Bokaro District. It is 5 km south of
Bokaro, the steel city. To the west of Bermo is another important town Gumia.
The town is noted for its coal mines. Tenughat Bird Sanctuary is a nearby attraction.
Ranchi, the state capital, is 85 km south-west. Bermo Railway Station is on the Gumia-Gomoh line.
