Ranchi has two bus stations - the Birsa (Khadgarha) Bus Station and the Ratu Bus Station. State Transport Corporation operates deluxe and passenger buses to all cities in Jharkhand as well as to all major towns in neighboring states. Regular buses are available to Jamshedpur, Kolkata and Patna. City buses are extensively available to get around places in the town and suburbs.
Ranchi Airport is the nearest airport, which is connected with Kolkata, Patna, Lucknow and Delhi by regular Indian Airlines flights. Ranchi Railway Station has regular trains to Patna, New Delhi, Howrah and Gorakhpur.
Hotel Ranchi Ashok, Kwality Inns and Hotel Highland Inn provide lodging facilities near the station.
Ranchi Hill, Tagore Hill (Moradabad Hill), Tribal Research Institute and Museum,
Kanke Dam and Ranchi Lake are all at a short distance.
Local travel is by means of tempos and rickshaws.
