Jan Shatabdi Express




Jan Shatabdi Express was introduced in 2002. (The word ‘jan’ means 'people' and ‘shatabdi’ means 'century' or 'centenary.') These trains are also called inter-city super fast trains. First Jan Shatabdi Express was run between Guwahati and Dimapur. Today, 15 pairs of trains run in various parts of the country.

All Jan Shatabdi Expresses have one AC chair car, six non-AC chair cars and two luggage vans each. Its fares are higher than normal those of mail express trains. Catering services available.
