Devaki

Devaki, a place of religious importance, is on the banks of the Ghaghar river at Ghaghra in Jharkhand. It is noted for the Shiva-Parvati temple here. The main idol, the Shivling, dug out in the late 1960s was determined to belong to the medieval era. Ritual showering of the idol with water during the month of Sawan is considered auspicious which attracts huge crowds. The whole hillock here has numerous Shivlings, some within caves, which add to the charm of the place.
