Khesari




Khesari or Grass pea is a member of the pulse family Leguminosae. It is a European annual cultivated for animal feeding. In India, Khesari is used as food and is grown in the eastern parts of the country.

It is cultivated in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam. Excess consumption of Khesari will lead to lathyrism.
