Chinnamasta Temple

Chinnamasta Temple is a very famous and popular place of Hindu pilgrimage, situated close to Rajrappa Falls at Rajrappa in Hazaribagh District of Jharkhand. The temple enshrines the deity of Chinnamasta (the beheaded Goddess Kali), one of the ten forms of the Goddess Durga holding her own head in her left hand and drinking the blood oozing out of her neck.

This is an old temple with an architectural design of Tantrik importance. There are two Dharamshalas in the temple yard. It is believed that one can accomplish all his desires by worshipping goddess Chinnamasta. Besides this temple, in the vicinity lie other temples such as the temples of Ashtamatrika and Dakshina Kali.
