Zaina Kadal

Zaina Kadal is the fourth bridge situated across Jhelum River in Srinagar. 'Kadal' is a Kashmiri word which means bridge. One of the nine wooden bridges in Srinagar, it is close to the tomb of its builder, the famous Kashmiri ruler Zain-ul-Abidin. Ali Kadal is a short distance away from here.

This bridge is constructed using the cantilevered principle, with logs arranged in a converse fashion and alternate courses supported on a cutwater of masonry. Though a new bridge has been built nearby, this old one stands testifying the durability of the old Kashmiri architecture.

Pather Masjid is between the Fateh Kadal and Zaina Kadal.
