Wangath

Wangath is a hilly village located near Wusan on the Srinagar - Sonamarg road. This village derived its name from the sportsman by the name Wangath Nala. The place is rich in dense forests of pine and fir. A long stretch of beautiful hills and the views from them make it an ideal place for holiday makers.

Naran Nag, a nearby attraction, houses many temples within the 3 miles distance at the foot of the Butsher Mountain. These temples are grouped into three. Most of them are now in ruins.

Wangath can be approached from Baramulla as well as from Srinagar by road. The nearest railway station is at Jammu and the airport is Srinagar Airport.
