Manma Mata Temple

Manma Mata Temple is an ancient shrine dedicated to Mata Devi, located 6 km south of Kalakote in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir.

There is a cave situated near the temple. It is said that Lord Shiva used this cave for traveling to Kashmir. Later on, Manma Mata Devi came to this place and meditated for several years in the cave.

Folklore tells that once a bull fell from the top of the mound where the cave is situated, but the bull remained protected due to the spiritual power of Manma Mata.

A big Yagya held every year on the eve of Navratras is a major draw. Thousands of devotees from far and near participate in this Yagya.
