Parkachik




Parkachik is a village located in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. The village is famous among mountaineers as a take off point. Many mountaineers' huts can be seen here. The place with a large glacier formation provides an enchanting view for tourists. It is an ideal place for the trekking enthusiast. The majestic Parkachik Glacier, spilling down the Nun-Kun slopes, which collapse into the Suru River, is a major attraction.

Sankoo and Panikhar are the other nearby places of tourist interest.

90 km south of Kargil, Parkachik is connected with Kargil by regular bus services.
