Navroze Festival

Navroze is the Parsi New Year festival celebrated annually on March 21. The literal meaning of the word ‘Navroze’ is 'new day.' All Parsis in the country celebrate the festival with great enthusiasm, especially at the fire temples. During the festival, the houses are decorated and people wear the best attires. The steps and thresholds of houses are adorned with rangoli. Delicious dishes are prepared for the occasion. People attend the prayers held at the Parsi temples in customary manner. New Year greetings are exchanged between the people after the prayer. Navroze is considered as one of the oldest festivals celebrated by the Parsis.
