Mughal Maidan, situated on the bank of
Chhatroo River, is a beautiful place where history and natural beauty gel together in perfect harmony. It is about 24 km from
Kishtwar in
Doda District of
Jammu and Kashmir.
The Mughals attacked Kishtwar at this place and suffered heavy causalities, then after the place was known as Mughal Maidan.
The slopes near the maidan are full of thick forests, which are rich in wild-life. A famous trek, measuring 11,570 ft, starts form here and culminates at Wello near Kokarnag.
