Merak is a nomadic area located in the eastern part of Leh District, Jammu and Kashmir. Bordering China, this village is at an altitude of 14,143 ft above sea level. It is about 31 km away from Chorkongma.
Merak is flanked by Man on its north and Chushul on its south. The eastern and western parts are covered by Kiagi and Kakstet respectively. Pangong Tso is a nearby attraction.
