In Sanskrit, 'Trishul' is the combination of two words, 'Tri' means three and 'Shul' means a spiked weapon. Trishul is the powerful three pronged weapon of Lord Shiva, as well as Parvati, used to ward off evil and guard the helpless devotees. Indian mythology describes it a symbol of the victory of truth.
