Tiun Fort

The Tiun Fort, built by Raja Kahn Chand in the 12th century, is perched on the Tiun range, on the Ali Khad crossing Ghumarwin-Ladraur motorable road, 45 km from Bilaspur. More or less in a dilapidated state now, this old citadel still bears the marks of the past disturbed times when wars were a routine feature here. Situated in over 14 hectares, this rectangle shaped structure measures 400 m x 200 m in area. Its walls are as high as 10 m at certain points. Remains of two water tanks can be found inside the fort.

It is believed that the fort once served as a prison for an uncle of Raja Kharak Chand.
