Shahtalai




Shahtalai is a picturesque hamlet situated in Hamirpur District of Himachal Pradesh, about 55 km ahead from Bilaspur on Bhager- Badser road. The ancient name of this place was Changer Talai which in a short span of time changed into Shahtalai. It is one of the central places of pilgrimage for Baba Balak Nath devotees and in the vicinity of this village lies a famous cave temple devoted to him. Nearby areas of interest include Deothsidh temple (4 km) and Shivalaya Bachhretu (3 km), a calm and serene place.

A rope way installed here is a major source of attraction. Shahtalai is well connected to nearby cities and towns by road. It is about 46 km from the district headquarters of Hamirpur and 10 km from Deothsidh. The nearest railway station and airport are at Una and Kangra (83 km north of Hamirpur) respectively.
