Renukaji




Renukaji is a holy city in Sirmaur District of Himachal Pradesh. It is named after Renuka, the wife of Rishi Jamadagni and mother of Lord Parashuram.

Renukaji is a place recognized for its religious and cultural value. Renuka Lake, Renuka Sanctuary, Renuka Temple Parashuram Tal are the major attractions. Boating and trekking can be enjoyed here.

Renukaji is famous for the Renuka Fair, held in November on the banks of the lake. The fair which lasts for a week is held to commemorate the immortality of Renuka and her son.

The best time to visit Renukaji is in winter when the climate is pleasant. In summer temperatures are high. Ambala City Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
