Nako Lake is situated in Pooh sub-division of Kinnaur District. Surrounded by willow and poplar trees, it is situated at an altitude of 3662 m. Nako is the largest village in Hangrang Valley.
A number of Buddhist monasteries can be found in the vicinity. There are four Buddhist temple on the northern side of the lake. Each of them houses a stuccoed image, which is believed to be of the saint Padmasambhava.
Located 117 km from Kalpa, Nako Lake provides boating facilities during summer, and in winter, it is frozen and is a perfect base for ice skating. Camping provisions are available here.
