Chandra Tal

Chandra Tal, 'the lake of the moon', is a picturesque glacial lake located at the source of the Chandra River in the Lahaul Valley of Himachal Pradesh. It is about 4270 m above sea level and 13 km from Kunzum Pass that connects Spiti and Lahaul.

This deep blue-water lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. It is said that this is the spot from where Lord Indra's chariot took the eldest Pandava, Yudishtira, to heaven in mortal form.
