Monkey Point

The highest spot in Kasauli of Shimla District, Monkey Point, owned by the Indian Air Force, is a 300 m high hillock with gorgeous views of Chandigarh region and Sutlej River.

A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is at the top of the hill. It is believed that the hill-top got the shape of a foot when Hanuman rested his foot there while returning from the Himalayas with the mythical Sanjivani herb (a magical herb believed to bestow life on the dead).

Kasauli is a seven hour drive from Delhi and 4 km from Kasauli bus stand. The best way to reach Kasauli is by train. The nearest railhead is Kalka, an hour's drive from Kasauli. Chandigarh is the nearest airport (70 km).
