Kalatop




Kalatop, at an altitude of 2,440 m, is a prime attraction of Chamba District. Blessed with lush landscapes, deodar forest and dales, it is often referred to as tourists’ paradise. The snow peaks enhance the beauty of the place.

Kalatop is famous for the sanctuary, where rare and endangered species of animals are the inhabitants. Numerous trek paths adjoin the place. The temperature varies from 10 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius.

Khajjiar Lake and a temple dedicated to Khajji Naga are around. Accommodation facilities are available in a nearby forest house.

The closest airport is at Kangra. Kalatop has good road communication, and the nearby railhead is at Pathankot, about 120 km away. Kalatop is an hour drive from Dalhousie.
