Guru Ka Lahore

Guru Ka Lahore is a highly revered Gurdwara near Bassi in Bilaspur District. It is situated in an enchanting locale, surrounded by hills from the three sides.

The place is associated with the wedding of the 10th Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. It is said that when Guru Ji got engaged to Jeet Kaur, her father insisted that the marriage be held in Lahore. But since Guru Ji was fighting Mughals at that time, it wasn't possible for him to go to Lahore. Inorder to satisfy his future father-in-law, he artificially created the environment of Lahore here and eventually got the marriage solemnized on 25th January, 1686.

Guru Ka Lahore remains open for 24 hours a day. The Basanta Panchami fair organized here every year draws a large number of devotees. The Gurdwaras of Sehra Sahib, Triveni Sahib and Paud Sahib are situated nearby.

The Gurdwara lies close to the Himachal Pradesh - Punjab border and is only 12 km from Anandpur Sahib.
