Dal Lake

Dal Lake, 11 km from Dharamsala, is in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. At an altitude of 1,775 m above the sea level and surrounded by deodar trees, it is a popular tourist spot. The lake is on the motorable road to Talnu and has a small Shiva temple on its banks. Every September a fair is held on the banks of the Dal, which is attended by a large number of migrant Gaddi folk, as well as people from other parts of the district.
