Chhatrari Devi Temple




Chhatrari Devi Temple is a ancient shrine, situated at Chhatrari Village in Chamba District, Himachal Pradesh. The temple enshrines a large 8th century brass image of Goddess Shakti, richly adorned with jewels and a crown. Also found are a brass idol of Lord Shiva and some attendant figurines. As per the inscriptions on the temple, it was built by Meru Varman, the founder of Bharmaur. The temple is of great archeological importance.

Chhatrari Devi Temple can be reached by bus from the Chamba Bus Station. Take a diversion from Luna bridge on Chamba-Bharmaur road to reach the temple. The temple is 8 km from Luna Bridge.
