Deccani Mahadev Temple




Deccani Mahadev Temple is situated at Nirmand, south of Kullu District, in Himachal Pradesh. Deccani Mahadev is the name by which the presiding deity Lord Shiva is worshipped.

Here Lord Shiva is installed in the form of a shivling believed to have been brought from Deccan, and hence the name Deccani Mahadev.

The temple is adorned with intricately carved wooden doors and pillars, which are some ofthe finest examples of woodcarving in Himachal Pradesh.

This exquisite shrine is 150 km from Shimla and 17 km from Rampur. Kullu Manali Airport and Joginder Nagar Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station.
