Pataudi




Pataudi is a small town situated 29 km south-west of Gurgaon. The town derives its name after a Mewati Chieftain, Pata, who is thought to be its founder.

Places of tourist interest in and around the town include the palace of the Nawab of Pataudi, Ashram Hari Mandir Sanskrit Vidyalaya, Sultanpur national park and bird sanctuary, Sohna and Nuh. A fair held in the Mahadev Temple at Inchapuri, in November, is a major draw.

Nearest airport is at New Delhi. Pataudi Road Railway Station is linked with Rewari, New Delhi, Jaipur, Nagaur and Churu. Regular buses are available to Gurgaon, New Delhi, Rewari, Faridabad, Rohtak and Chandigarh.
