Morni



Morni is a picturesque town situated in the lower reaches of the Shivalik range, at an altitude of 3600 ft above sea level, in Haryana. The pleasant climate, charming natural vistas and myriad opportunities for bird watching, trekking, rock-climbing and other adventure sports makes the town an ideal getaway in summer. Morni is 45 km east of Chandigarh.

As one approach Morni by road, the enchanting sights of sleepy hamlets, terraced fields and forested hills that seems to moves past in a hurry, presents a picture of nature’s splendor at work. For mountain lovers, the hill state of Himachal Pradesh is nearby.

Places of tourist interest in the town include an old fort, Morni Hills and the mysteriously interconnected lakes, separated by a hillock. Trekking and hiking trails are aplenty in the region. Hang gliding at Morni has many takers among adventure enthusiasts.

Accommodations are available at the Mountain Quail tourist complex, a forest tourist hut called 'Lal Munia' and in a PWD rest house.

Nearest airport and railway station are at Chandigarh. By road, Morni is linked with Chandigarh, Panchkula, Pinjore and Kalka.
