Karnal District




Karnal District of Haryana lies on the banks of the Yamuna. It is surrounded by the districts of Kurukshetra in the north-west, Kaithal and Jind in the west, Panipat in the south, and the state of Uttar Pradesh in the east.

The economy is maintained by agriculture. Rice, wheat and milk are the major agrarian products. Karnal is also famous for leather and leather products. The research institutions are National Dairy Research Institute, Wheat Research Directorate, National Bureau of Animal Genetics Research, and Sugarcane Breeding Institute. Kalander Shah's Tomb, Cantonment Church Tower, Bhara Mal's Sarai, Gurdwara Manji Sahib, Sita Mai Temple, Anjanthali, Indri Shish Mahal, and Guga Pir are some of the historical and religious places.
