Ambala Cantonment Junction Railway Station




Ambala Cantonment Junction Railway Station is located in the cantonment area of Ambala city. About 140 passenger trains pass through this station every day. Saharanpur-Nangaldam Passenger, Unchahar Express, Himalayan Queen Express, Amritsar Barauni Jansewa Express, Malwa Express and Delhi-Ambala Passenger pass through this station. Shatabdi trains that halt at Ambala include New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi, New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi and Bhatinda-New Delhi Shatabdi. Served by the Northern Railways, the station is a gateway to major places in North India. Electrified line connects Ambala with New Delhi. The rail route that links New Delhi and Ambala runs parallel to the Grand Trunk Road (G T Road.)

The railway department has provided computerized reservation facility at the station. On the way to New Delhi, Kurukshetra (47 km south) and Karnal (83 km south) are the main stations. Traveling north, the main station close to the cantonment station is Chandigarh Railway Station, 47 km. A nearby attraction is Patel Park, a beautiful garden worth visiting.
