Vrindavan



Vrindavan, just 15 km from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, is an important place of Hindu pilgrimage. It is the village where Lord Krishna spent an eventful youth. The important temples of this place are Madan Mohan, Banke-Bihari (1864), Radha Vallabha, Jaipur, Shahji (1867), Rangaji (1851), Govind Deo, and Shri Krishna-Balram. Other places of interest include the Sriji Temple, Jugal Kishore Temple, Kesi Ghat, Lal Babu Temple, Raj Ghat, Meera-Bai Temple, Imli Tal, Kaliya Ghat, Raman Reti, Varaha Ghat, and Chira Ghat. The Seva Kunj where Lord Krishna performed Raaslila, Nidhi Van where the divine couple (Krishna and his consort) rested, and the Samadhi of Swami Haridas are also situated there.
