Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

Religious Leader of India.

Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the great religious leader of India, was born in a Brahmin family in Hooghly District of West Bengal. He taught that God-realization is the only goal of life. He spent most of his time in intense spiritual activities.

Paramahamsa proceeded under various spiritual guides to experience the whole gamut of mystical relationship described in Hindu scriptures. He believed that all creeds and religions led ultimately to the same goal. He exhorted people not to waste time squabbling over religions but to seek God with a pure and dedicated heart. He attracted to him a group of young disciples, including Swami Vivekananda.
