Modasar Teerth

Modasar Teerth is situated on the Bavla-Sanand Main Road, at Modasar, in Ahmedabad District of Gujarat. It is about 6 km from Bavla and 11 km from Sanand. The temple enshrines a yellow-stone idol of Bhagwan Shantinath, the 16th Jain Tirthankar, in the Padmasana posture.

It is said that the 9 idols seated as guest-idols in a hall were found while digging a farm at the village of Modasar. As per the historians, there was a temple in Modasar in the 14th century and most of the idols were made by King Samprati, the grandson of King Ashoka of the Maurya Dynasty.
