Marine National Park is located in the Gulf of Kutch (
Jamnagar District) and is about 7 km from
Jamnagar. Mangrove, coral reefs, sea grass, seaweeds, sandy areas, mudflats, and other associated habitats, in the Gulf of Kutch support variety of marine flora and fauna.
India’s first Marine National Park, it spreads over an area of about 458 sq km. Inhabitants include
great Indian bustard, one-horned antelope, dugong, turtles, shrimp, sponge, eels, sea urchin lurk, and huge schools of fish.
The best period to visit is October to March. Accommodation is available in PWD rest house and hotels at Jamnagar.
Jamnagar Railway Station serves as the nearest railhead.
