Kayavarohan




Kayavarohan or Karvan, as it is popularly known, is situated on National Highway 8, in Vadodara District of Gujarat. This ancient town is about 29 km from Vadodara. Major point of attraction is the Lakulish Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Kayavarohan is believed to have existed through each of the four Yugas. The sculptures and relics belonging to the 2nd century have been found from this historical place. A beautiful head of Tapas, the image of Kartikeya (Lord Muruga) and an idol of Uma-Maheshwara are some of the archaeological specimens discovered from here.

Vadodara Airport serves Kayavarohan. Kayavarohan Railway Station is on the Palej-Dabhoi rail route.
