Bhavnath Mahadev Temple




Bhavnath Mahadev Temple is situated at Junagadh, in Gujarat. Located at the foot of Girnar Hill, the origin of this ancient temple is unknown. The temple enshrines Lord Shiva as the presiding deity. The temple is surrounded by many equally ancient and holy places.

The annual Bhavnath Fair, which starts on the Mahashivaratri day, attracts thousands of people from far and near. During the festival visitors are served free meals by the organizers.

Buddhist caves found nearby are worth visiting.

Junagadh Junction Railway Station, on the Veraval-Rajkot railway line, is the nearest railhead.
