Gandhinagar

Capital city of Gujarat

Situated on the west bank of river Sabarmati, Gandhinagar is Gujarat's new capital city. It is about 32 km north-east of Ahmedabad. Gandhinagar has the spacious, well-organized look of an architecturally integrated city. Shopping and community center, primary school, health center, Government and private housing are available here. There are also broad open green parks, extensive planting, and a large recreational area along the river that gives the city a luxuriant and succulent green garden-city atmosphere. Shamlaji and Akshardham are the main places of tourist attraction.
