Shree Swaminarayan Temple




Shri Swaminarayan Temple is a highly revered shrine situated at Gadhada, in Bhavnagar District of Gujarat. This two-storied temple, built in 1829, is a fine piece of architecture with a high plinth, spacious square, an assembly hall and large sarais. The temple enshrines images of Lord Gopinath Harikrishna Maharaj, Lord Dharm Bhakti, Vasudevnarayan, Lord Revti, Baldev, Sri Krishna and Suryanarayan.

There is the Akshar Oradi Temple and a Gangajalio Well at the backside of the temple. On the southern side of the temple is a big margosa tree (Neem tree) and the chamber of Lord Vasudevanarayan. It is believed that Lord Shriji Maharaj gave several discourses at this place. The court of Dada Khachar is preserved here in its original form.

The annual Jal Jilani Ekadashi Fair celebrated here is a major draw attended by thousands of devotees from far and near.

Botad Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
