Kutchhi Cuisine

Kutchhi Cuisine that hails from the tribal villages of Kutch District is known for its refreshing blend of spicy and sweet aromas. It is relatively simple. Rice and pulses form the staple component of Kutchhi Cuisine. It consists of Khichdi, the main dish eaten with Kadhi (a savory curry made of yoghurt). Kutchhi kitchens prepare delectable items like the khaman dhokla, a salty steamed cake made from chickpea flour; doodha pak, sweet, thickened milk confectioned with nuts; and srikhand, a dessert made of yogurt, flavored with saffron, cardamom, nuts and candied fruit which is eaten with hot, fluffy pooris.
