Shree Shantadurga Temple




Dedicated to Shree Shantadurga, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati, Shree Shantadurga Temple is an ancient shrine situated at Dhargal, in Pernem taluk of North Goa District. The temple was originally located at Mapusa of Bardez taluk. Following the religious persecution by the Portuguese, it was shifted first to Sanquelim and then to Sawantwadit. The deity was installed at its present location in 1550. The main festival celebrated here is Zatra, which falls in December.
