Goa University, established in June 1985, is located on the outskirts of
Panaji, on the
Taleigao plateau overlooking the
Zuari River joining the
Arabian Sea.
It offers courses in Latin American Studies, French, Portuguese, computer science and technology, business administration, marine biotechnology. PG Diploma and certificate courses are also offered. The university has a DOD sponsored research cell in ocean science and technology. A remote sensing laboratory has also been established.
