Sattari

Sattari is one of the six taluks and the second largest taluk of North Goa. This picturesque and bewitching taluk holds some of the highest peaks of Goa. The Mandovi River, before merging with the Arabian Sea at Cabo Aguada, enters Goa at Sattari taluk. Maulingam, one of the ancient villages of Goa, belongs to this taluk and Chitpavans, a Kokanastha Brahmin community, can only be found here.

Madei Wild Life Sanctuary, covers the northeastern portion of Goa, is the main attraction. It is also noted for the temple of Lord Brahma. Goa Airport is the nearest airport and major railway station is at Karmali.
