Lamgao Caves are two incomplete rock cut caves located at
Bicholim, a major educational and cultural center in
North Goa District. Carved out of decomposed laterite, these caves are considered to be sacred by the Hindus. Among the two, one has an impressive pavilion like structure in the sanctum and a well cut entablature with beams and ceiling.
Bicholim is situated 35 km north-east of Panaji - the capital city of Goa. Regular buses connect Bicholim with Mapusa and Panaji.
