Shri Morjaee Temple




Shri Morjaee Temple (Shri Morjee Temple) is a historical temple complex located at Morjim in North Goa District. It is a 250 year-old structure and houses five shrines. Beyond being a major pilgrim center, the temple is a place of scenic beauty for visitors. Thousands of people from distant areas flock here to worship the god.

Kalash Utsava, the main festival is celebrated in every three, five, seven or nine years. The festivities last for a month. Concluding seven days of the festival is a big cultural and religious affair. Gudi Padva, Dussehra, Zatra, Divjam and Ghode Mundim are the other festivals celebrated at this temple.

Morjim is 40 km north-west of Panaji, the state capital of Goa. Mapusa, which holds the nearest railway station, is about 15 km east of Morjim. The nearest airport is Goa Airport at Dabolim.
